Discussions and debate have been occurring all over the blog, and while I’m having a blast, I’m going to have to set them aside for a while.
I’m visiting my neighbours to the south for another year of the fabulous Penny Arcade Expo (PAX). Yes, that very same video game convention brought to you by the degenerate, immoral, violence obsessed gamers that bring you the annual Child’s Play Charity.
Once I get back, I anticipate a lot of work, so I’ll catch up on all the discussions eventually — but not instantly. Carry on, and have a good time with it!

Things have been getting hot and heavy on this blog — lots of discussion about the origin of the universe, the purpose of life, and whether or not God exists.
So you know, business as usual.
I’m just taking a brief moment to plug my latest project: BeerFancier.com
It’s a casual beer blog, with a focus on local (Vancouver, BC) microbreweries and specialty craft brews. I don’t know what the numbers are when it comes to people that read atheism blogs and people that have an interest in beer tasting, but if you’re looking for something to read that doesn’t make you want to yell and scream at me, try Beer Fancier.*
But remember, it’s still a new kid on the block, so it might be changing over the coming weeks.

I created an iGoogle theme based on the the Mac OS X colour scheme. This was just a quick project so that my own iGoogle page would look more like the rest of my computer, but I thought others might want it as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Hi there! Sorry for unannounced and extended hiatus of this website. I got tied up at work, and then left for Europe for most of the month.
I’ve just finally had a chance to look at the discussions that unfolded in my absence. I’ve tried to weigh in where I thought it was appropriate, but I’d like to give special thanks to Sara from la tua ucellucia, Ubiquitous Che from rhetoric sans pareil, and of course Justin from Life of a Christian College Student.
Well, aside from this one, of course.
I turn 23 today, so I’m taking the day off.
Yep, anyone that visits this blog on a semi-regular basis will notice that it has a new look. A cleaner look.
I think the old theme was a bit cramped and busy - not to mention dark. I used Apostrophic Labs’ Wellbutrin font for the logo, and the WordPress theme is a slightly modified version of Tarski.

Well, if we’re being honest, it’s actually his campaign staff that’s following me on Twitter. It’s a smart move though, adding back any followers. It’s interesting just how much a role the internet is playing in the American elections this time around.
My school, the University of British Columbia, has had a strange past week.
I was sitting at my office when I received an email alert from UBC informing students that the Biosciences building had been the site of a police incident, and that it was undergoing a full lockdown. The language used in the advisory was cause for concern:
“Building occupants have been instructed to stay where they are, to secure the room in which they are located, and to await further instructions from the RCMP.”
Further instructions in the email recommended that, “all campus occupants should be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious circumstances to the RCMP at 911.”
This, I suppose, is the first post on my blog.
I don’t feel like I should launch into any of the things I’d like to write about right off the bat, so this post more less just fills up empty space. It’s like when you buy a new journal or diary, and you always leave the first page blank, thinking to yourself “One day, I’m going to write or draw something really great on that first page.”
But you never actually get around to it, and the first page is always blank. This post is pretty much that page in a journal.
